Sun Life Foundation Donates Over 1,700 School Kits to Filipino Students

Sun Life Financial-Philippines Foundation, Inc. (Sun Life Foundation), in partnership with AHA Behavioral Design, has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Filipino children’s education. The initiative involved the donation of more than 1,700 school kits to six elementary schools across Metro Manila and beyond.

These school kits, which include school bags, hygiene kits, lunch boxes, and tumblers, were distributed to students at Aguho Elementary School in Pateros, Sta. Lucia Elementary School in San Juan City, and Col. Ramon Camus Integrated School in Malabon, ensuring that the students received the perfect gift to start their school year right.

Reaching even the most remote communities, the Sun Life Foundation and AHA Behavioral Design teams traveled through forested trails in Laguna to deliver kits to Gisgis Elementary School in Pangil and Parang ng Buho Elementary School in Santa Maria, showcasing the initiative's commitment to overcoming barriers in order to provide for students in need.

The highlight of the distribution event took place at Pinaglabanan Elementary School in San Juan City, where over 760 kits were given to students in an event attended by Sun Life Philippines executives.

Kristine Millete, Executive Director of Sun Life Foundation, shared, “Beyond bringing joy to school communities, our greater goal is to give students the tools they need to learn. Children learn well when their needs are met. This donation is our way of helping build a brighter future for Filipino children, one school kit at a time.”

AHA Behavioral Design’s COO, TJ Agulto, added, “We support Sun Life Foundation in donating school kits not only to assist students but also to show teachers that they have a dedicated partner in making a difference in the classroom and in their students' lives. The schools we have chosen are part of Sun Pera-Aralan, Sun Life Foundation’s flagship financial management program for public school teachers, reinforcing our joint mission to empower both educators and learners.”

As part of its ongoing philanthropic efforts, the Sun Life Foundation donates school kits annually to support Filipino school communities, underlining its commitment to making a positive impact on the future of education in the Philippines.
