''A Very Good Girl'' crosses 40M mark, Kathryn Bernardo 'over the moon'

ABS-CBN Films' latest release A Very Good Girl has taken the nation by storm, earning over Php 40 million since its opening in cinemas last Wednesday. The revenge-drama film made headlines as it raked in over Php 10 million on its first day, making it the biggest Filipino movie of 2023 with over 32,000 tickets sold.

"I am over the moon, and I am a very happy girl with everything that's happening now. Grabe ang support na ibinibigay nila sa amin and, of course, sa A Very Good Girl with Ms. D (de Leon) here," said lead star Kathryn Bernardo during an interview on the red carpet of the ABS-CBN Ball on Saturday.

Currently screening in more than 250 cinemas nationwide, A Very Good Girl has received widespread praise from moviegoers, particularly for the outstanding performances of the cast. To express their gratitude and appreciation, Kathryn and Dolly personally visited different cinemas in Metro Manila during the movie's opening day.

The two female lead stars are scheduled to fly to the US for the movie’s Hollywood premiere on October 4 at The Silver Screen, Pacific Design Theater in Los Angeles, California. US theatrical screenings of the film will begin on October 6 and international screenings in Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Guam, Saipan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Cambodia, Nigeria, and the Middle East will commence next month.

A Very Good Girl features a talented ensemble cast, including Chie Filomeno, Jake Ejercito, Gillian Vicencio, Kaori Oinuma, Ana Abad Santos, Nour Hooshmand, Donna Cariaga, Althea Ruedas, Nathania Guerrero, and Angel Aquino. The film marks Kathryn’s much-awaited comeback on the big screen since her 2019 hit Hello, Love, Goodbye (For which she currently holds the record for the highest-grossing Filipino film of all time with co-star Alden Richards), and her first collaboration with the first-ever Filipino BAFTA and Golden Globe nominee, Dolly de Leon.
