“Sine Singkwenta is FDCP’s initiative to encourage Filipino viewers to go back to the cinemas and enjoy once more the communal experience of watching a film on the silver screen, along with other moviegoer, for a very affordable price of PHP50.00,” the FDCP stated in a Facebook post.

The FDCP initiative is in celebration of the Philippine Film Industry Month, a month-long celebration that will showcase the heritage and legacy of Philippine Cinema. The FDCP is set to hold “a wide array of film-related events, industry gatherings, free movie screenings, and talkback sessions throughout the month of September.”

With the theme “Tuloy pa rin ang Tawanan,” this year’s Philippine Film Industry Month aims to pay tribute to iconic Filipino comedians who helped shape and develop the country’s popular culture in movies and television such as Dolphy, Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon (TVJ), Eugene Domingo, Michael V, Vice Ganda, and many others.

The cast of the hit '90s sitcom Home Along Da Riles also recently reunited to celebrate the opening of the Philippine Film Industry Month, with a free screening of the seminal comedy series’ restored and remastered 1993 movie adaptation.
